Valencia Port (Port Code: ESVLC) is a port located in Valencia, Spain. Operated by Port Authority of Valencia, it covers an area of 600 ha (6 sq km). There are 40 available berths, 72 wharfs and around 15 thousand staff. It is the fifth busiest seaport in Europe and the busiest port in the Mediterranean. The main transported cargo include the furniture and timber industries, textiles, footwear, agriculture and foodstuffs (grain and fodder, wine and beverages, tinned food, fruit, etc.), fuel products (diesel fuel, petrol, coal, etc.), chemical and motor vehicles (Ford, Fiat, Land Rover, Jaguar, etc.), the construction industry (cement and clinker, ceramic tiles, marble, etc.), machinery, etc. The Port of Valencia also has regular passenger traffic to and from the Balearic Islands and Italy. In recent years it has experienced a solid growth in Mediterranean cruise traffic.
As of 2019, it handled 81 million tonnes of cargo and 5.4 million TEU, ranking first in Spain and second in the Mediterranean basin in container shipping (after the Port of Piraeus), and second in Spain in annual cargo traffic, after the Port of Algeciras.
