Big bay, east of Tokushima Peninsula, Hokkaido, Japan. It is slightly round, about 50 km in diameter. The water in the bay is shallow, and the deepest part is less than 100 meters. The coastline is straight and about 150 kilometers long. Uchiura is a good port. The bay is rich in fish.

Uchiura Port (Port Code: JPUCH) is a port situated at the head of Uchiura Wan, on the coast of Honshu, facing the Sea of Japan. It is nestled by a number of islands such as Awashima and Nagaisaki. The many fishing vessels in the harbor coupled with the scenery of Mt. Fuji and the fishing village creates a stunning landscape. A great number of tourists and those interested in fishing visit it for seafood and local inns run by fishermen. Uchiura Port also functions as a lumber port. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 67 meters.
