The port of Rio Marina (Port Code:ITRMA) is a small harbour situated on the east coast of Elba, roughly halfway between the small and shallow harbour of Cavo and Porto Azzurro. The slopes behind the harbour are disfigured by several hundred years of open-cast mining.The port consists of an outer breakwater with berths on inside wall. From the port, there are many ways to reach the mainland. It is often used as an alternative port to Portoferraio. From the port of Cavo you can catch connections to Portoferraio and Piombino.
Anchor moor on the quay at the SE end of the harbour. Depths here are 3.0 - 4.0 metres. There are supposedly 15 berths for yachts in transit. Alternatively, seek a berth on the pontoons, which are in place during the summer months only. The pontoons are operated by Rio Service which also operates a small boatyard. Maximum length is 15 metres.
