Summary of KPRAJ

Rajin Port (Port Code: KPRAJ) is a large year-round ice-free port in the Sea of Japan in the North Pacific Ocean on the northeast tip of North Korea. It is in the Kwanbuk region and location of the Rason Special Economic Zone. It is the biggest enterprise in the Rason area, an ice-free facility used for shipping goods into and out of the area. There are three main piers, one of which is leased by a Russian company. There is also some space in the zone leased to foreign ships that dock in the port over the wintertime since other ports along the Siberian coastline freeze over the long, harsh cold winter.
