The Port of Osaka (Port Code:JPOSA) is the main port in Japan, located in Osaka within Osaka Bay. The Port of Osaka also has several sister ports including the Port of Busan. The port of Osaka is located in the northeast corner of Osaka Bay, lying between the Kanazaki River in the north and the Yamatogawa River to the south. The port, approx 20km southeast of Kobe, is an important centre for domestic and international waterborne traffic. Its south boundary is the Yamato River, with the City of Sakai beyond, to its north lies Hyogo Prefecture beyond the Kanzaki River. The port consists an Inner Harbour (Area Nos 1-3), South Harbour (Area No 4) and North Harbour (Area Nos 1-6) and comprises more than 70 berths (including 13 container berths) for foreign trade handling. Cargoes include coal, bulk, LPG, crude oil, general, passengers and bananas. Osaka, Sakai-Senboku Amagasaki/Nishinomiya/Asia and Kobe ports have been unified into Hanshin Port as one open port since 2007. Approx 25,300 vessels, 80,994,000t of cargo, 1,843,000TEU and 1,682,000 passengers handled annually. Max size: Container Berth: Draught 12.0, 60,000DWT.
