Olhão (Port Code:PTOLH) is the biggest fishing port on the Algarve and as such, its harbor is a pretty busy place. Faro & Olhao is a south Portuguese port located 282km to the northwest of Gibraltar. It is a busy commercial port on the west side of Ria Formosa, a marshy estuary, Olhao stands on the east side of the estuary 4.5nm east of Faro and is an important fishing port. Approx 200 vessels and 532,000t of cargo handled annually. Max size: Length 110m, draught 6.4m. Vessels in excess of LOA 110m must obtain prior authorisation from the Port Authority for berthing.
