Commercial port of the Republic of Yemen. It is located in a small bay in the southeast of mukala town in the east of the country, Southeast of the port city and adjacent to the Arabian Sea. The sea route is 945 nautical miles from Muscat in the East, 1867 nautical miles from kolenpo port, 280 nautical miles from Aden port in the West and 374 nautical miles from Mander Strait. There are two breakwaters in the north and south of the port, and ships enter the port from the West. In the harbor, there are berths with water depth of 9.15 meters inside the north and South breakwaters. The South No.1 berth is 177 meters long, and the North No.2 berth is 184 meters long. It is reliable for berthing 10000 DWT ships. On the headland outside the northwest town, there is a fishing boat berth of 160 meters, with a water depth of 4.5 meters; There are also three berths along the coast. Export fish products, tobacco, honey, etc.

Mukalla port (Port Code: YEMKX) is the main transportation gateway for Hadramout, Shabwah and Almaharah governorates. It is the most important port in the Hadhramaut. Port of Mukalla is a multi purpose port which receives, dry bulk cargo vessels, container vessels, general cargo ships, liquid cargo ships, RO/RO vessels and CRUDE/CRUISE vessels. Activity comprises 400 vessels calling at the port of Mukalla and about 1100.000 mt.of different cargo type imported and exported anually.
Major commodities include; foodstuffs, cement, oilfield equipment and general cargo.
Mukalla is located halfway along Yemen's southern coastline, approx 270nm east of Aden.
Khalf Harbour lies 2km to the east of the town at Mukalla and to the west of Pas Kodar below Jebel Al Qara, which protects Mukalla from the NE monsoon between Oct-May.
