      Grand commercial port in southern Texas.It is located in the southeast coastal plain of the state. Ships enter the port from galvoston Bay in the northwest of the Gulf of Mexico, via beidun to San Jacinto buffalo canal.From beton to the turning pond in Houston, the canal is 25.5 nautical miles long, the water depth of the channel is 11.2-12.4 meters, and the draft is 11 meters.Houston is a major water, land and air transportation hub in the south of the United States. It is 43 nautical miles from the port of galvoston, 434 nautical miles from the port of New Orleans, 517 nautical miles from Tampico, Mexico, and 1530 nautical miles from Cologne, Panama.The port area is located along the canal 25 nautical miles from GangShi to beidun. There are more than 100 wharves, nearly half of which are public wharves, and the rest are special wharves for refineries, chemical plants, iron and steel plants, and grain and cotton export companies.There are more than 50 general cargo berths in Hong Kong, of which about 40 are owned by the port authority. Most of them are close to the canal bank near the urban area, and there are about 30 deep-water general cargo berths.However, the main container terminals of the port are located at the balburg terminal in the north of Galveston Bay, about 40 km away from the urban area, with four berths.At present, there is only one berth near the urban area, and No. 5 and No. 6 container berths are under construction.There are three berths in Houston wharf and three berths in Jacinto harbor wharf, all of which are accessible by railway.There are five grain export terminals, namely terminal 14 and 15 of the port authority, which can dock two ocean going ships at the same time, and there are 175000 tons of granaries on the terminal;The food terminal of iguite export company has the same facilities;Gothpastow grain terminal has 300000 tons of granary.The grain terminal has granaries with a total capacity of 800000 tons. It is the second grain export port of the United States. There are 71 ore terminals with advanced facilities.The oil terminal occupies the first place in the port, with more than 70 oil supply and crude oil berths distributed along the canal.It is one of the few large ports with 100 million tons in the world, including 5680 tons of international trade in goods.The main exports are grain, cotton, petroleum products, chemicals, etc;Import iron ore, oil, steel, sugar, coffee, etc.

The port of Houston (port code: USHOU) is a large port in the United States. It is situated 326 nautical miles northeast of Brownsville in the southeast of Texas.
The port is a 40 kil9ometers long complex of diversified public and private facilities. The Port of Houston Authority (PHA) operates the public facilities located along the Houston Ship Channel, including Buffalo Bayou, Sims Bayou, Hunting Bayou, Greens Bayou, Boggy Bayou, Goose Creek, Cedar Bayou, Barbours Cut and Bayport. PHA's facilities include: The Turning Basin Terminal, a general cargo facility located about 11.2 kilometers from downtown Houston; the Fentress Bracewell Barbours Cut Container Terminal, an intermodal facility; Jacintoport Terminal, Bulk Materials Handling Plant, Bayport Terminal, a bulk liquids complex, Woodhouse Terminal and Care Terminal (attached to Jacintoport). The port also operates and manages a foreign trade zone site.
The port handles approximately 225,000,000t of cargo, 1,770,000TEU annually. Main imports to this port are petroleum products, iron/steel, LPG, organic chemicals, and crude fertilisers. Main exports from this port include cereals/grains, petroleum products, organic chemicals, polymer plastics and inorganic chemicals.
About 8,000 vessels visit this port per annum. The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are oil/chemical tankers (27%), LPG tankers (14%), bulk carriers (13%), container ships (11%), and general cargo (9%).
