Gaolan port (Port code:CNGON), located in the southwest of Zhuhai, is the most important container terminal and bulk cargo terminal in Zhuhai of Guangdong Province. In addition to Gaolan port, Zhuhai is also home to Jiuzhou Port, Xiangzhou port, Tangjia Port, Guishan Port, Doumen Port, Hongwan Port, Wangzai Port，etc.
Container transportation: Thanks to its advantageous position and deep-water area, Gaolan port is operating two international container services,inlcuding Vietnam and Japan. For long haul service, Gaolan port provides feeders for transshipping cargo to North America, Europe, and other ocean areas through the nearby major ports in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong. In 2020, the container throughput of Gaolan Port increased to 73.95TEUs.
Bulk cargoes: Gaolan port is also an essential terminal for bulk cargoes shipping. In 2020, its bulk cargo throughput exceeded 9.39 million tons. As the only deep-water port on the West Bank of the Pearl River Delta, the port is the distribution center of pulp, steel, equipment, timbers, oil, and other chemical products. Gaolan Port's steel throughput ranks the second largest in the South China.
