Romanian commercial port.It is located on the concave bank at the corner of the lower Danube River turning north to East, about 80 nautical miles away from the estuary.By sea, it is about 85 nautical miles from the port of turchada sulina, 190 nautical miles from the port of oder, 170 nautical miles from konstansa and 340 nautical miles from the port of Istanbul. By river, it is connected with the ports on the international river course of Danube. By railway and road, it connects Moldova in the northeast, and by Frey city in the west, it connects the petrochemical city of ployesti and the capital Bucharest.The river channel in the port area is 450-900 meters wide and 13-24 meters deep. There are shoals at the estuary, which are 180 meters long and about 7 meters draught.The port is divided into East port, West Port and shipyard area. The wharfs are distributed on the north bank and around the excavated harbor basin.Donggang District is about 5 km to the east of the urban area. It has a riverside wharf line of about 900 meters and can berth seven ships with a draught of 7 meters;The coastline of the harbor basin is more than 1000 meters, and it can berth more than 10 ships of 5000 DWT.The West Port is close to the urban area. The Quay Line is about 800 meters long and can berth 4 ships with a draught of 7 meters;The south side of the harbor basin is 700 meters long, with a draught of 6.5 meters. There are four ships and good handling equipment on the shore.There are 7-9 ship repair berths on the north and East Bank of xigangchi.

Galatz port (port code: ROGLZ / ROGAL), also called Galati port, is the main Romanian river - maritime port. It is situated on the left bank of the Danube, about 80 nautical miles away from the estuary.
The port has 4 areas: mineral port, old commercial port, Docuri basin and Bazinul Nou port. Depths in the river channel range from 8.5 to 20 meters. The port is kept open during the winter by ice breakers.
The port handles approximately 9.5 million tons of cargo annually. This cargo figure is made up of approximately 8.3 million tons at Mineralier Galati, 433,000t at Docuri Galati and 815,000t at Bazinul Nou. The principal exports are metal products, timber, cement, chemicals and industrial equipment, and the main imports include iron ore, coal, coke and grain.
Each year about 4,500 seagoing and river vessels visit this port. The type of vessels regularly calling at this port is cargo vessels, accounting for around 66%. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 311 meters. The maximum draught is 7 meters. The maximum deadweight is 19,998t.
