The Port of Dalian (port code: CNDLC/CNDAL) is located in Dalian Bay at the southern end of the Liaodong Peninsula. It is a natural ice-free port and the most important container hub port in Northeast China. Dalian Port has established economic, trade, and shipping relations with more than 160 countries and regions and more than 300 ports worldwide. The port has 81 container shipping routes with an average of 300 liner ships per month. More than 90% of foreign trade containers in Northeast China are transshipped at Dalian Port.

The water area of Dalian Port is 346 square kilometers and the land area of the core part is about 18 square kilometers. Also, it has warehouses that cover more than 319,000 square meters, and its cargo yard is more than 3.2 million square meters. The port's container throughput capacity is 16 million TEUs, and its annual cargo throughput reaches 451 million tons.

Dalian currently has 7 professional loading and unloading operation areas with a total of 48 berths and a maximum water depth of 17.5 meters. There are more than 149 kilometers of dedicated railway lines in the port and more than 100 modern professional berths for containers, crude oil, refined oil, grain, coal, bulk minerals, chemical products, passenger and cargo ro-ro, more than 70 of which can berth 10,000-ton ships.

Dalian Port is connected to the national highway network in Northeast China through Shenyang-Dalian Highway, one of the longest highways in the country. Dalian Port also connects Russia and North Korea through the Trans-Siberian Railway, making it the starting point of the Eurasian Continental Bridge.
