Cooktown Port (Port Code: AUCOO) is a declared port situated about 91 nautical miles north of Cairns. It is the most northerly port on the east coast of Australia. Today it is known as a community port, managed by the Far North Queensland Ports Corporation (Ports North) and is used mainly by fishing vessels, small passenger vessels and recreational craft.
It attracts some cruise ships, and tourism vessels, however, no commercial trade takes place. The types of vessels regularly calling at it are Pleasure Craft (35%), Fishing (20%), Other (5%).
