Cirebon Port (port code: IDCIR / IDCBN) is a medium-sized port in Indonesia. It is located on the northern coast of Java facing the Java Sea, almost 300 kilometers east of Jakarta.
The port occupies 25 hectares for port operations and 26 hectares for warehousing and storage. It contains five cargo-handling berths with alongside depth of to 7 meters. The port’s bulk coal terminal, with capacity to handle 50 thousand metric tons, supplies cement factories in the region. Although utilization rates are low, the terminal has capacity to unload 20 tons per hour. The port’s passenger terminal covers 1.6 thousand square meters and serves a monthly service between Cirebon and Pontianak, Borneo, in West Kalimantan. There are also specialized terminals for asphalt and vegetable oils. Six tanks are devoted with capacity for 11.3 metric tons of asphalt. The vegetable oil facility covers 18 square kilometers and has storage capacity for 10.3 thousand metric tons.
The port is mainly engaged in the inter-island trade. The principal exports from this port are sugar, tapioca, pinang, rice, groundnut oil, sisal fibre and copra. The main imports include phosphate, tobacco, dried fish, machinery, textiles, cement, iron and flour.
The port handles approximately 1.5 million tons of cargo and 1,070 vessels annually. The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are fishing vessels, accounting for around 20%; and cargo vessels, taking up about 29%. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 130 meters. The maximum draught is 6.5 meters. The maximum deadweight is 13,131t.
