The forecast science research center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences released the "2021 global Top20 container ports forecast report" in Beijing. According to the results of the model, nine of the world's Top20 container ports are from China. Related prediction and analysis conclusions are as follows:
First, the reason of the recovery of the container transportation industry in 2021 is mainly east Asian economies, especially China, which took the lead in controlling the epidemic and rapidly resumed work and production. Overall, China still accounts for nearly half of the world's top 20 container ports, with seven of the top 10 container ports from China. Compared with 2020, the growth rate of container throughput of China's ports has increased to a large extent.
Second, in 2021, China has seen the upward trend of the demand for container transportation services in most ports, especially in Ningbo Zhoushan port, Shenzhen port and Tianjin port. According to the calculation of the model, nine of the Top20 container ports in the world come from China, and the development of China's container transportation is still the pivotal and foundation of the global stable development.
Third, according to the regional analysis, the container throughput of most ports in the world will show a recovery upward trend,except for kaohsiung Port in Asia .
Overall, it is expected that the top 20 container ports in the world in 2021 will not change much from 2020, and the specific changes of port ranking are as follows:
(1) The Port of Los Angeles will overtake the Port of Kaohsiung to rank 16th in the world, while The port of Kaohsiung will drop to 17th;
(2) The Port of Long Beach will surpass the Port of Hamburg to rank 18th in the world, while the Port of Hamburg falls to 19th place.
