Summary of AUWYA

Whyalla Port (Port Code: AUWYA) is a private port located in Spencer Gulf, South Australia and connected by railway to Iron Knob. It is operated by OneSteel Manufacturing Pty Ltd (trading as SIMEC Mining) which is a wholly owned subsidiary of GFG Alliance. The port consists of four offshore transshipment anchorages (TP1–4). The Outer Harbour, comprising one berth, is used for bulk loading of raw materials and the discharge of fuel oils. The Inner Harbour, comprising three berths, is for the discharge of bulk raw materials used at the steelworks. It is also used for the discharging of breakbulk cargoes and the loading of steel products. Imports include coal, limestone, fuel, oil, general, dolomite and ferro silicon. Exports include iron ore, salt, coke breeze, steel products, nut coke and sulphate of ammonia. Approximately 1,400,000t of imports and 1,450,000t of exports are handled annually.
