Overview:
A bay and town of Baffin Bay in western Greenland. About 160 km (100 miles) long, it is divided into several small fjords, all extending eastward to the inland ice sheet. Umanak was built in 1763 on an island to the north of the nuussuaq peninsula. It is a fishing and hunting base with hospitals, weather stations and radio stations.
