Tonnay Charente Port (Port Code: FRTNC) is a river port located in Charente-Maritime, southwest of France. The total length of the quays stretches over 1,450 meters and is located 27 kilometers from the mouth of the river. It can receive ships 120 meters long for a draft of 6.5meters. Thus, the port can receive ocean-going vessels with a deadweight of 5,000 tons and up to 10,000 tons. It has been a commercial port for fertilizers, cereals, coal, sand. It has 2 waiting berths , 2 operation berths and 1 silo berth. Port traffic remains highly dependent on tides for the arrival and departure of goods, which presents constraints that limit its access to large cargo ships.
The port is now closely associated with port of Rochefort, forming the port complex of Rochefort-Tonnay-Charente.
