Antalya Port (port code: TRAYT), also known as Akdeniz Port, is the largest organized port on the coastline of about 700 nautical miles between Izmir and Mersin. Located at the head of Antalya Gulf, on south coast of Turkey, it is a port of entry.
The port offers a sheltered port, protected by two breakwaters, which are 1,140 meters and 650 meters long respectively. The distance between the two is 250 meters. The main berths in the port are located in the northern port area.
The port handles approximately 8 million tons of cargo and 210,000TEU annually. The main imports entering this port include fertilizers, coal and raw MDF. The principal exports leaving this port include cement, marble, chrome, aluminium hydrate and ingots.
Each year about 1,700 vessels and 25,000 passengers visit this port. The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are sailing vessels, accounting for around 35%; cargo vessels, taking up around 19%; and passenger vessels, taking a proportion of 17%. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 244 meters. The maximum draught is 10.6 meters. The maximum deadweight is 64,273t.
