Owendo (Port Code:GAOWE) is a deepwater port located on the northwestern Gabon, on the north shore of the Gabon Estuary; it serves the national capital, Libreville (9 miles north-northwest), and was designed to handle ore vessels. It has a seaplane base and road connections with Libreville, Cocobeach, Médouneu, and Kango.
Owendo is located some 20km upriver from Libreville. The port handles a variety of general cargoes, including containers and exports bulk magnesium. Approx 700 vessels and 5,160,400t of cargo handled annually. Max size: General Berth: Draught 9.5m. Bulk Berth: Draught 11.5m, 40,000DWT.
