Oshawa (Port Code:CAOSH) is located on the north shore of Lake Ontario. The port is made up of a dredged basin enclosed by 2 breakwaters with a channel depth of 8.2m at the entrance and 6.7m in turning basin. The central area of the East Wharf known as the general cargo area, and the entrance wall area of the West Wharf are operated by Oshawa Stevedoring Inc. The principal cargoes include imports and export steel coils, plates, billets, rebar and special projects. The port falls within a major manufacturing area, with companies such as General Motors of Canada located in the vicinity. Approx 197,750t of cargo handled annually.
