Orleans Port (port code: FRORR / FROLS) is an important river trade port in north-central France. It is situated on the banks of the Loire River in a fertile valley on the edge of the Beauce plain, about 120 kilometres (74 miles) south-southwest of Paris.
The port was always a strategic point on the Loire, for it was sited at the river's most northerly point, and thus its closest point to Paris. It was the headquarters of the community of merchants frequenting the Loire.
