Killala (Port Code:IEKLA) is a thriving fishing port and boasts an active working harbour and old stone quays once blessed by saints. Killala is situated on the west coast of Ireland, approx 19nm west of Sligo. The last large commercial vessel to enter the port was reportedly in 1973. The port area is prone to silting and is therefore only used by fishing vessels and yachts. At LW, there is a sand berth.
