The port of Kiire (Port Code:JPKII), located in South Kyushu in western Japan, has emerged as a major high sulfur bunkering port in the country, with JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy starting as sole supplier there, bunker traders said June 12. Kiire is located on the south-western tip of Kyushu Island in Kagoshima prefecture. Kiire is an oil staging terminal which can accommodate ULCC's up to 500,000DWT at the berths in depths up to 34m. Approx 31,000,000t of oil and 550 vessels handled annually. Max size: LOA 458m, beam 62m, draught 30.6m, 500,000DWT.
