Fraserburgh port (port code: GBFRA / GBFRB) is a large fishing (herring and whitefish) and commercial port. It is situated on the northeast coast of Scotland, close south of Kinnaird Head.
As a major fishing port, the port has one of the most modern fish markets in the United Kingdom. With easy access and safe berthing and approximately 4,000 meters of quayside, the port is ideally positioned for the fishing grounds of northern and eastern Scotland, the North Sea oil and gas fields and trade with Scandinavian and Baltic Sea ports.
The port handles approximately 260,000t of cargo annually. The principal cargo handled are bulk cargoes, general cargo, oil, containers, fish products and heavy lifts. The port serves about 71 commercial vessels each year, among which around 82% are fishing vessels. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 90 meters. The maximum draught is 5.6 meters. The maximum deadweight is 3,115t.
