Dammam port (port code: SADMM), also known as King Abdul Aziz Port, is the second busiest commercial port in Saudi Arabia. It is located on the northeast coast of Saudi Arabia, approximately 5 nautical miles off the coast, and approximately 50 kilometers south of Ras Tanura.
The port includes Dammam Container Terminal (4 berths), Bulk Cement Berth, Bulk Grain Terminal (3 berths for handling grain with mobile machinery), Explosive Berth and a Cold Store Terminal. There are 39 cargo handling berths plus a small craft harbour. In addition, there is a facility for discharging edible oils.
Covering an area of over 19,000 hectares, the port handles about 20.5 million tons of cargo and 2,100 vessels annually. The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are cargo vessels, accounting for about 50%, and fishing vessels, taking up around 14%. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 398 meters. The maximum draught is 14 meters. The maximum deadweight is 196,000t.
