Ambarli port (port code: TRAMB) is a large private port complex serving the greater Istanbul metropolitan area. It is situated on the northern shores of the Sea of Marmara off the Aegean Sea, 34 kilometers from Istanbul.
The port is divided into 2 regions: Region 1 is Ambarli New Port, located to the west of the oil terminals, consisting of privately owned dry, bulk and container terminals, also Total Haramidere Oil Jetty; Region 2 consists of the oil platforms, jetties and mooring buoys of Oil Major Companies.
In Region 1, there are a. Marport Main (Armaport) Terminal (covering 17 hectares and having a capacity to handle 950 thousand TEUs per year and to stack over 12.5 thousand TEUs); b. Marport West (Soyak) Terminal (covering an area of 17 hectares and having a capacity to handle 950 thousand TEUs per year and to stack over 12.5 thousand TEUs); c. Marport East (Kumport) Terminal (handling 428,830 TEUs and approximately 1,620 vessels per year); d. Akcansa Cement Pier (handling 600,000t cargo, including 160,000t general cargo, and approximately 400 vessels per year); e. Mardas (handling 2,551,200t general cargo and 137,062TEUs per year); f. Set Cimento (handling 244,000t bulk cargo and approximately 400 vessels annually); and g. Total Haramidere Offshore Platform Region (accommodating approximately 200 vessels each year).
