Ad Dakhla port (port code: EHVIC), is a new port of Dakhla, previously known as Villa Cisneros.
The port is situated on the east coast of the Peninsular de Rio de Oro, in the Bahia de Villa Cisneros, approximately 245 nautical miles south of Gran Canaria and approximately 380 nautical miles southwest of the port of Tan Tan.
The new port area comprises 4 berths, 1 external and 3 internal, on a 'U' shaped head, linked to the mainland at the southwest end of the city by a 1 nautical miles long access road lying northwest/southeast. Mostly used by ocean going fishing vessels, the main cargoes are oil products, phosphates, fresh fish and fish products including frozen fish.
This port handles approximately 250,000t of cargoes annually.
