California has been experiencing heavy rain and strong winds for almost ten days. And now the powerful winter storm is causing dangerous flooding and mudslides.
According to National Weather Service, California had to be bracing for another two major episodes of rain and storm taking place "in quick succession" into Tuesday. The first one slammed the central California coast. And the second round hit Southern California on Tuesday. Northern California would face a third batch of rain on Wednesday.
The seemingly endless storms had already caused numerous landslides, turned roadways into waterways, buried mountain towns in snow, and left hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses without power.
NWS warns that the intense waves and rip currents resulted from storms and flooding will continue into this week, possibly flooding along the coast. NWS also recommends mariners remain in port, seek safe harbor, and secure their vessels from severe wind and combined seas.
