1. “M” means Minimum Charge.
Minimum freight is the lowest freight that airline companies is able to accept when they handles a batch of goods, it is made by airline companies after considering that handling carrier charges can produce fixed cost. If the carrier charges less than the minimum freight, it will not cover the cost of transportation. Therefore, the airline stipulates that if the actual freight calculated is less than the minimum freight, it shall be charged according to the minimum freight, unless otherwise stipulated.
2. “N” means Normal Rate.
For Normal Rate, two conditions should be met: 1) the weight of the goods should be under 45kg, 2) It should be normal cargo
Besides, the amount calculated according to the freight rate "N" shall not be less than the minimum freight.
3. “Q” means Quantity Rate.
For Quantity Rate, two conditions should be met: 1) the weight of the goods should be above 45kg. 2) It should be normal cargo
According to the weight, “Q” is usually categorized to +45, +100, +300, +500, +1000 and other. The heavier the cargo is, the cheaper the rate will be. “Q” is common in reality, because the most of the cargoes are above 45kg. If the weight of the cargo under 45kg, express will be better option for the timeliness, cheapness and convenience.
Note that “N” and “Q” are based on the chargeable weight not actual weight.
4. “C”means Specific Commodity Rate.
Specific Commodity Rate is usually applied to goods with large volumes, strong seasonality and low unit value, for example: food animals and plant products, live animals and non-food animals and plant products, textiles, fibres and their products, metals and their products, but excluding machinery, vehicles and electrical equipment, machinery, vehicles and electrical equipment, non-metallic minerals and their products, chemicals and related products, paper, reeds, rubber and wood products; Scientific, precision instruments, instruments and accessories, etc.
5. “S” means Special Commodity Rate
“S” rate is applied to special cargoes like live animals, animal containers, precious goods, precious plants and plant products, ashes, coffins, fresh perishable goods, guns, ammunition, escorted goods, luggage transported as goods, etc. The freight rate of these special goods is generally 150% of the basic freight rate
