Introduction

In order to guarantee the production and service standards of the terminals, the Shekou and Chiwan terminals CCT/MCT and SCT will adjust the time of receiving and exporting full containers from 0:00 on June 6, 2021.

In order to guarantee the production and service standards of the terminals, the Shekou and Chiwan terminals CCT/MCT and SCT will adjust the time of receiving and exporting full containers from 0:00 on June 6, 2021. Only ships whose expected time of arrival (ETA) is within 3 days will be accepted for export full containers. This measure will be implemented from 00:01 on June 6th to 23:59 on June 13th.

Shenzhen Yantian Port, the world's largest single container terminal, where the export of full containers has been suspended for 122 hours, resumes receiving incoming full containers at 00:00 on May 31, but the situation is still not optimistic.

At present, the“butterfly effect”of the epidemic situation in Yantian Port has begun to appear: inefficiency of port operations, terminal congestion, and shipping schedule delays. Many shipping companies have announced that they will have a blank sailing, involving nearly a hundred routes. 

The blank sailings also caused a large amount of South China cargo to flock to the surrounding Shekou Port and Guangzhou Nansha Port. It is reported that Guangzhou Nansha Port was captured by surging cargo, and there was an unprecedented long queue of cars.
