Chassis

A chassis (or container chassis) is a trailer or wheeled unit on which a container is placed in order to move container over the road.

What is Chassis?

Chassis (or container chassis), also called intermodal chassis or skeletal trailer, is a type of semi-trailer designed to securely carry an intermodal container. Chassis are used by truckers to deliver containers between ports, railyards, container depots, and shipper facilities. It is a piece of equipment specifically designed for the movement of containers by highway to and from container terminals.
