Bitter End
Bitter End is a part of an anchor cable which is abaft the bitts and thus remains inboard when a ship is riding at anchor.
Bitter End is a part of an anchor cable which is abaft the bitts and thus remains inboard when a ship is riding at anchor. The anchor cable is tied to the bitts, when the cable is fully paid out, the bitter end has been reached.
