Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport (IATA code: UPG, ICAO code: WAAA), originally known as Kadieng Flying Field, is a joint public-military airport serving Makassar, the capital of the Indonesian province of South Sulawesi. Located on the border of Makassar and Maros, 20 kilometers (12 miles) northeast of Makassar's city centre, it is the main gateway for flights to the eastern part of Indonesia.

The airport opened a new terminal in 2008, which has a capacity of handling 7 million passengers and includes six jetbridges. It is the first airport terminal in Indonesia designed in a high-tech architecture style. It had undergone an expansion which was expected to make its size three times bigger and enable it to accommodate around 15 million passengers.

Since the beginning of the new millennium, the numbers of passenger handled by this airport have increased more than sixfold. In 2018, the airport handled a total of 13,537,770 passengers, an increase of 13% from the previous year, and 93,817,541 kilograms of cargo with 135,050 aircraft movements.
