Hong Kong International Airport

Hong Kong International Airport (IATA: HKG, ICAO: VHHH)， Hong Kong's main airport, is built on  the island of Chek Lap Kok. It is a significantly essential hub for the region, connecting much of Asia with the rest of the world, and it is home to one of the world’s largest terminal buildings. The airport is in operation 24 hours a day and is the main hub airport for Cathay Pacific, Cathay Dragon, Hong Kong Airlines, Hong Kong Express Airways and Air Hong Kong (cargo carrier). In 2015, HKIA handled 68.5 million passengers, making it the 8th busiest airport worldwide by passenger traffic and the 3rd busiest airport worldwide in terms of international passenger traffic. Since 2010, it has also surpassed Memphis International Airport to become the world's busiest airport in terms of cargo traffic. Hong Kong International Airport also plays an important role for the local economy employing some 65,000 members of staff. In 2017 the airport won the International Airport Review Award for Airside Operations.
