Guadalajara International Airport(IATA Code: GDL, ICAO Code: MMGL), the main airport, is located 16 km south of the Mexico's second-largest city Guadalajara. The airport is Latin America's sixth and Mexico's third-busiest airport, after Mexico City International Airport and Cancún International Airport, and second-busiest for cargo flights. The Cargo Terminal was recently expanded and has a capacity to store approximately 350,000 tons of goods annually in its 27,000 square meters. It owns 6 positions that can handle any kind of major aircraft. Guadalajara's International Airport consists of two runways and one terminal. A major airport for connections, it became a hub for Volaris and its primary gateway to the United States. The Passenger Terminal or Terminal 1, is used by all airlines for international and domestic flights. The terminal has customs facilities.
