Bristol Airport (IATA Code: BRS, ICAO Code: EGGD) is the commercial airport serving the city of Bristol, England, and the surrounding area. It is 7 nautical miles (13 km; 8.1 mi) southwest of Bristol city centre. Handling over 8.9 million passengers, it was ranked the eighth busiest airport in the United Kingdom.
From 1997 to 2010, it was known as Bristol International Airport ,and was rebranded as Bristol Airport in March 2010.
Bristol Airport has one runway designated 09/27. It has one of the shortest international airport runways in the country at just 2,011 m (6,598 ft) in length, with runway 27 having a threshold displacement of 140m(510 ft). Despite the short runway length, the airfield is able to accommodate aircraft as large as the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A330.
