ViewSardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (IATA code: AMD, ICAO code: VAAH) is an international airport serving the twin cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat, India. Located in Hansol, 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) north of central Ahmedabad, it is the busiest and largest airport in the Indian state of Gujarat.
The airport currently consists of four terminals: domestic, international, an additional terminal for secondary traffic and a cargo terminal as well. Both the international and domestic terminals have four aerobridges each. The domestic terminal (Terminal 1) has 32 check-in counters and covers an area of 45,000 square meters (480,000 square feet). The international terminal (Terminal 2) has 32 check-in counters. With a total floor area of approximately 41,000 square meters, this terminal will be able to accommodate around 1,600 passengers at any given time.
In 2019, the airport saw a peak in the number of passengers passing through its gates: a total of more than 11 million passengers. In fiscal year 2020-21, it handled about 3.64 million passengers making it the seventh-busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic in India.
